Monthly vs. annual

Every paid plan is billed monthly or annually:

  • Monthly — cancel anytime
  • Annual — pay once upfront, 4 months free vs. monthly (discount applied to initial payment)

You can switch between monthly and annual on the same tier from inside the app — see Switching plans.

Buying extra credits

If you're on Pro or Studio and run out of monthly credits before your next renewal, you can top up extra credits without leaving the app.

  • Price: $0.20 per credit
  • Presets: $10 (50 credits) or $20 (100 credits) — or pick Other with a $5 minimum
  • Shared balance: extra credits add to the same balance as your monthly allowance — no separate counters
  • No expiration on extras: unused extra credits stay until consumed
  • Not refundable once purchased
  • Pro and Studio only. Basic and Free users must upgrade first — extra credits aren't sold on Basic because they don't unblock its 20-credit daily cap

When you hit zero, you'll see a You're out of credits dialog with a Buy extra credits button. You can also top up any time from your avatar menu → BillingBuy more credits.

Basic out-of-credits flow: if you're on Basic and hit your daily cap or use up your monthly credits, the only path to more credits is to upgrade to Pro or Studio — Basic doesn't sell extra top-ups. Wait for the daily reset (every 24 hours) or pick a higher plan.

Automatic recharge (auto top-up) — Pro and Studio

Don't want to think about it? Pro and Studio subscribers can turn on automatic recharge so we top you up before you run out:

  • Threshold: when your balance falls below this number of credits, a recharge fires
  • Recharge amount: how many credits to add per recharge (charged to your saved card)
  • Limit: maximum of 10 auto-recharges per month, as a safety cap
  • Email confirmation every time a recharge happens
  • Disable any time from Billing

Configure it from BillingEnable under the credit balance card, or accept the prompt that appears right after you buy extras for the first time. Auto-recharge is not available on Basic.

How credits work

Every action that calls the AI consumes credits. The exact cost depends on the model and resolution:

  • Standard render (1K) = 1 credit
  • Standard render (2K) = 1.5 credits
  • Standard render (4K) = 2 credits
  • Pro render (2K) = 2 credits
  • Pro render (4K) = 4 credits
  • Improve quality (Upscale) = 1 credit
  • Video = 0.8 credits per second of generated video
  • Failed renders don't charge credits — if a render errors on the platform side, no credit is spent

Viewing, comparing, sharing, and downloading do not consume credits.

Your current usage is visible in the top-right of the app, next to your profile picture — with separate counters for renders and video seconds:

When you run out on Free, you'll see a "You're out of renders" dialog:

Subscribing

  1. Click Upgrade (top-right of the app) or your avatar → BillingUpgrade
  2. Pick your plan (Basic, Pro, or Studio) and Monthly or Annual
  3. Enter payment details (Stripe handles billing securely — credit card only)
  4. The plan takes effect immediately — new credits available right away

Switching plans

Already on a paid plan and want to change tier or billing period? You can switch in-app without going through Stripe checkout.

  1. Avatar menu → Billing
  2. On the current-plan card, click Change plan
  3. Pick the target tier and billing period

How the change applies:

  • Upgrade between tiers (e.g. Basic → Pro, or Pro → Studio): takes effect immediately. New monthly credit allowance is available right away. The new plan replaces the old one as a swap on the same Stripe invoice — you're charged the new plan's price and credited back the unused portion of the old plan, so the net charge is the difference.
  • Downgrade between tiers (e.g. Studio → Pro, or Pro → Basic): scheduled to take effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep your current plan's credits and features until then. The Billing page and the Change plan dialog both show the scheduled change date.
  • Switch billing period on the same tier (e.g. Pro monthly ↔ Pro annual): takes effect immediately. If you switch from annual to monthly, you'll have a credit balance with us for the unused portion of the annual term, which is applied automatically to future invoices.

Cancelling

From the avatar menu → BillingCancel subscription (under the current plan card). You keep access until the end of the current billing period, then drop to Free automatically.

If the billing page doesn't load, try opening the app in an incognito window.

Refunds

Refunds are evaluated case by case and aren't guaranteed:

  • Monthly plans (Basic / Pro / Studio) — generally not refunded after the charge posts. Cancel to stop future charges
  • Annual plans — not refundable after the initial payment in normal cases
  • Extra credit top-ups (manual or auto-recharge) — not refundable once purchased

Refunds can take 5–10 business days to show on your statement depending on your bank.

To request a refund, use the Chat with human button in the app and include: the account email, date and amount of the charge, and the last 4 digits of the card.

Team / organization pricing

Render a House doesn't offer a formal team plan. Multi-user accounts are not allowed — one account per person. For a studio, the recommended path is the Studio plan used by a single shared studio account; contact support if you'd like help setting that up.

Currency, taxes, and payment methods

  • Prices are in USD
  • Payment is processed in USD; your bank converts to local currency at its exchange rate, which may include local taxes
  • Invoices are issued by Render a House LLC and emailed automatically on each charge
